Emotional farewell to King of Pop

Jackson's daughter Paris, 11, fought back tears to describe him as "the best father you could ever imagine".
The singer's coffin was placed in front of the stage during the event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles after an earlier private funeral.
Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey paid tribute before the family joined a sombre finale on stage.
Jackson's siblings, children and parents took part in a chorus of We Are The World and Heal the World.
His family, with the brothers each wearing a single jewelled glove in Jackson's honour, then took to the podium.

Comforted by aunts and uncles, Paris stepped up the microphone. "I just wanted to say, ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine," she said.
"And I just wanted to say I love him so much."
Marlon Jackson spoke of the troubles his brother faced. "We will never, never, understand what he endured," he said.
"Not being able to walk across the street without a crowd gathered around, being judged, being ridiculed. How much pain can one take?
"Maybe now, Michael, they will leave you alone."
'Nothing strange'
Jackson's brother Jermaine earlier took to the stage to perform the song Smile. It was said to be the King of Pop's favourite song, featuring the lyric: "Smile though your hearts are aching."
At the start of the service, Jackson's brothers carried the golden flower-draped coffin into the arena to the strains of a choir singing "Hallelujah, hallelujah, we're going to see the King" from the song Soon And Very Soon.
Mariah Carey was among the artists paying tribute, performing I'll Be There and ending with the words: "We miss you."
Stevie Wonder said: "This is a moment I wished I didn't live to see come. Michael I love you."
Civil rights leader the Reverend Al Sharpton gave a fiery speech, telling Jackson's children: "There weren't nothing strange about your daddy.
"It was strange what your daddy had to deal with but he dealt with it."

Motown boss Berry Gordy, who signed the Jackson Five, ended his tribute with the words: "Michael, thank you for the joy, thank you for the love. you will live in my heart forever."
Actress Brooke Shields, who first met Jackson when she was 13, broke down in tears as she took to the stage.
Describing Jackson as "pure", she said: "He was often referred to as the King but the Michael that I knew was always the little prince. Michael saw everything with his heart."
The 17,500 people in the arena cheered as clips of Jackson's life and music were played on big screens.
Messages were read from absent guests including former South African President Nelson Mandela, poet Maya Angelou and singer Diana Ross.

Images of Jackson flashed on screens as Stevie Wonder performed
The message from Ross was read by Smokey Robinson. "I'm trying to find closure," it said.
"I want you to know that even though I am not there at the Staples Center I am there in my heart.
"Michael was a personal love of mine, a treasured part of my world, part of the fabric of my life in a way that I can't seem to find words to express.
"Michael wanted me to be there for his children and I will be there if they ever need me. I hope today brings closure for all those who loved him."
Other people taking part include Usher and Britain's Got Talent finalist Shaheen Jafargholi, who has played the young Michael Jackson in the musical Thriller - Live.
The stage was adorned with the star's image, alongside a mural carrying the words: "In Loving Memory. Michael Jackson King of Pop - 1958-2009."
'Everybody cried'
Speaking after the event, one fan, Marianne Green, told the BBC the memorial was "heart wrenching".
"It was really beautiful. A lot of people got up and said wonderful things," she said.
Pamela Green added: "We laughed at some jokes, but everybody cried. I've never seen anything like that, ever."
Millions of fans around the world watched on TV.
Roads were closed off and concrete barriers erected outside the Staples Center, where Jackson had been rehearsing a comeback show before his sudden death aged 50 on 25 June.
More than 1.6 million fans applied to attend the memorial event, with 8,750 people chosen at random to receive a pair of tickets.
Family members earlier attended a short funeral service at the Forest Lawn cemetery.

Chelsea and Manchester United knocked back by Franck Ribery

The likelihood of Manchester United or Chelsea signing Franck Ribery this summer has suffered a knock back with the French international winger expressing a desire to join the Real Madrid revolution.

United and Chelsea's hopes of landing the player had been raised following reports in Spain that he has rejected a new contract offer from Bayern Munich.
Bayern have been at pains to emphasise that Ribery is not for sale this summer, putting a prohibitively high price tag on his head to warn off potential bids of around £100 million.

A report in Sport, a Barcelona newspaper, details Bayern’s offer to the Frenchman of around £7.5 million a year, as the Bundesliga club look to hold on to one of their most valuable assets.
Ribery himself, however, has expressed a preference for joining Real in an interview with a French newspaper.
"I have decided that I want to leave. It will be Real Madrid or nothing," he said.
"I will wait to see how things pan out but I would like to hold talks with the Bayern management soon."
However, Uli Hoeness, Bayern's general manager, does not believe Ribery's desire to leave alters their position.
"Does Franck want to go to Real? For us, that changes absolutely anything. Life is not always a fairytale," he said.
"Real have not made us a specific proposal and we do not need their money."
After the transfers of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema – all to Real Madrid – Ribery is the most sought after talent on the continent.
With Ronaldo commanding a fee of £80 million Bayern can realistically expect to do business for somewhere in the region of £55 million should they decide to cash in on the 26-year-old, despite former coach Ottmar Hitzfield suggesting that Bayern would only be interested in an offer in the region of £75m.
Real Madrid had been heavily linked with Ribery earlier in the summer and, despite taking their spending past the £170m with the acquisition of Benzema, show no signs of finishing their shopping spree just as yet.

NHRC reminds govt on rights abuse
Kantipur Report
KATHMANDU, July 9 - The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has cautioned the government not to appoint or promote any government official who is under investigation for human rights violations.
In a letter submitted to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, NHRC has also reminded the government to implement its earlier recommendation to investigate and punish government officials responsible for serious human rights violations.
The rights body has expressed serious concern that instead of penalizing government officials and security personnel identified as perpetrators of rights violations, the government has been promoting them to higher posts. “NHRC cautions that such activities of the government can increase impunity and raise questions about the government's commitment to protection of human rights,” read the statement.
NHRC has reminded the government about carrying out independent investigations into the killings of Dayaram Pariyar (Janakpur), Sapana Gurung (Morang), Maina Sunuwar (Kavre), and Sarala Sapkota (Dhading), punishing the culprits and providing appropriate compensation to the victims' families

Kaka claims 'no rivalry' with Ronaldo

MANCHESTER: Kaka was speaking at his official presentation at the Bernabeu tonight, where he was unveiled as the first new arrival since Florentino Perez returned to the Madrid presidency earlier this month. The Brazil international, who has penned a six-year contract and has cost Madrid a reported £56million, will be joined next week by Ronaldo, with the Portugal international being presented on July 6 after completing his world-record £80million switch from Manchester United. The capture of the last two winners of the FIFA World Player of the Year awards marks the return of the 'galacticos' era to Madrid, with Perez also splashing out huge fees on big-name signings such as Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo and David Beckham during his previous tenure in charge from 2000-06.That policy reaped indifferent rewards, though, with Madrid claiming seven trophies under Perez in total but none in his final three years.Questions have been raised about whether Madrid might fall into the same trap this time around and bring in a host of superstar players at the expense of a working team.Kaka insists he will have no problem playing alongside Ronaldo, though, saying: "There will be no rivalry with Cristiano. We are compatible and there will no problem between us either on or off the pitch."It's a great privilege to be able to play with great players, not only with Cristiano Ronaldo, but also with Raul, (Iker) Casillas and Guti."The former AC Milan midfielder did concede, though, that having big-name players in the team does not automatically guarantee trophies, adding: "Having talented players is positive, but they must work hard and make sacrifices to win titles."Kaka, who passed his medical earlier in the day having landed in the Spanish capital this morning after helping Brazil win the Confederations Cup, was presented in front of tens of thousands of fans and a huge media contingent at the club's Bernabeu stadium.A crowd more than double the estimated total of 20,000 turned up to watch the ceremony as Kaka was unveiled as Madrid's latest addition by club president Perez and honorary president Alfredo di Stefano."It reminded me of Ronaldinho's presentation at Milan. It's been an unforgettable day," said Kaka."Today is a very happy day for me. I'm very happy because this new stage of my career will be at Real Madrid."It make you proud to be here. And this motivates you to obtain titles and wins."I'm hoping to big things and score many goals," added the playmaker, who admits Madrid were top of his wish list if he were to leave Milan. The 27-year-old had been linked to other clubs during the last six months, including Chelsea and Manchester City, but he was adamant Madrid was his first-choice destination."In January Milan opened the doors to negotiations for the first time. I thought that it was not the time to leave," he said."Then at the end of the Italian season, they called me and said there were offers for me."I always said that if one day I left Milan I would like to play at Madrid, because everyone who has played here has told me great things about the club."When asked about former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti's hopes of taking him to Chelsea, Kaka added: "I was honest with him, thanked him for everything, but I gave him the same reasons as I've told you now to explain why I preferred Madrid."Kaka will wear the number eight shirt at Madrid next season. There had been speculation he would be handed the number five shirt that Zinedine Zidane had once worn for Madrid, or the number nine left vacant by Javier Saviola's departure, but the new arrival will instead take up the number eight shirt formerly worn by Fernando Gago.Gago will now wear the five shirt that Fabio Cannavaro sported before returning to Juventus this summer
